Videotheque

To see the list of documentaries available download the videotheque catalogue here (PDF, in Spanish, 6 MB).

The purpose of Cinememoria’s videotheque is to allow the community to access the documentaries presented in the nine past editions of the International Documentary Film Festival ‘Encuentros del Otro Cine’.

We believe that Cinememoria’s videotheque is an ideal resource for researchers, students and filmmakers. It is also a meeting space that prompts discussion and reflection around documentary cinema as an artistic expression and a vital instrument for education and research.

The videotheque has more than 1500 documentary titles from around the world (including most of the films presented in the nine editions of the festival). A big percentage corresponds to films made by Ecuadorian filmmakers, as well as films made by foreign directors who tell stories about Ecuador. The topics are varied, ranging from intimate documentaries to films that talk about the social movements that have marked the political life of several countries.

The films are in DVD format and are available to high school and university students and the general public, solely for the purpose of consultation and research on specific subjects.
